Any Time Of The Day - Forex Trading Hours
If you know anything about the stock market, you know that at about the same time everyday, the market closes. If you are in the market and have taken a beating that particular day then no one will be looking forward to the markets closing more than you do. The market open, the market closes and puts your money to bed, until the next day. The currency market, however, has a different schedule. Forex trading hours are open for dealing 24 hours a day, 5 days a week. Most people probably think that the fine people over a Forex just love keeping impossible hours, which would be far from the truth. When trying to understand forex trading hours, one must first take into account the world markets. Given the fact that in today's global market and their inherent strength, it is virtually impossible to find a time with the notable exception of the weekends, when there is not a market open. Whether you are awake in the wee hours of the morning or looking for a stock deal in the afternoon, or any time in between, there is always some financial market that is open for business. With markets open, currency is trading, that is what tends to determine the forex trading hours.
Forex trading hours also benefit the investor that is up to date with current news events that could possibly affect the Forex markets. Often times, something happening half way across the planet may affect global markets. With the forex trading hours being what they are, you can be proactive when the news breaks rather than having to wait for hours on end for a market to open. If you have to wait any period of time, it is more than likely too late. Forex trading hours may seem a bit odd, but when you have a market that deals in the world currency, it would be quite a disadvantage to have the market open for only a few select people that happen to live in a particular time zone. Another benefit is, perhaps you keep rather strange hours. Maybe you work an unconventional schedule and you still wish to dabble in the currency market on a part time basis. With the forex trading hours regardless of what your hours are, you can still work the currency market, when all the stocks and bonds are tucked in their beds and are fast asleep. |
